Why Bespoke

Because Someone Will Ask You Where You Got It From

And when they do, you will not say a shop name. You will tell them about the person who designed it. The conversation you had. The detail they would never notice unless you pointed it out.

Charlene designs wedding rings, engagement rings, and bespoke jewellery one to one from her studio in Godmanchester. Cambridge is just down the A14, around twenty minutes if traffic is kind. Free consultation, no obligation, and no expectation that you commit to anything on the day.

Every piece is designed from scratch around you. Gold, platinum, palladium, natural and lab created diamonds, sapphires, and coloured gemstones. From plain bands with a personal texture to fully bespoke engagement rings with family stones set into the design.

Down The A14

Godmanchester is around fifteen miles west of Cambridge, taking around twenty to thirty minutes depending on traffic. The studio is well off the main road with parking nearby. Charlene works around your schedule and many Cambridge clients prefer the calmer setting to anything in the city centre.

Your first consultation is free, relaxed, and usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour. There is no pressure and no obligation to go ahead. From there, Charlene will produce hand drawn sketches and detailed 3D CAD visuals. You can try on a 3D printed resin model of your ring before the final piece is made. Every finished piece is independently hallmarked at a UK Assay Office.

Most commissions take eight to twelve weeks from design approval to collection.

What To Expect

From First Conversation To Finished Ring

Everything starts with a free consultation where you sit down with Charlene and talk through what you are looking for. Your ideas, your taste, your budget, and any questions you have. You do not need to arrive with a finished idea. Most people come with a feeling, a few saved images, or just a sense of what they do not want. See the full process.

Charlene then produces hand drawn sketches before developing detailed 3D CAD visuals so you can see the ring from every angle. Before the final piece is made, she can have a 3D printed resin model created for you to try on. You get to feel the weight, check the fit, and see exactly how it looks on your hand.

Charlene works with 9ct, 14ct, and 18ct gold in yellow, white, and rose, as well as platinum and palladium. Stones include natural and lab created diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and coloured gemstones. Every finished piece is sent to the Birmingham Assay Office for independent hallmarking before it reaches you.

Common Questions

Questions People Near Cambridge Often Ask

How much do bespoke wedding rings cost?+

Every ring is different so the cost depends on the metal, the complexity of the design, and whether stones are involved. Charlene will give you an honest quote during your free consultation so you know exactly what to expect before committing to anything.

How long does a bespoke ring take?+

Most commissions take eight to twelve weeks from design approval to the finished ring, depending on complexity. If your wedding date is close, Charlene will always be honest about what is achievable in the time available.

Do I need to know what I want before my consultation?+

Not at all. Some people arrive with detailed sketches and reference images. Others arrive with nothing more than a vague feeling. Both are completely fine. The consultation is where Charlene helps you figure out what you want.

Can I try on the ring before it is made?+

Yes. Once the CAD design is finalised, Charlene can have a 3D printed resin model made for you to try on. You get to check the fit, feel the weight, and see how it looks on your hand before the final piece is created.

How far is Charlene's studio from Cambridge?+

Charlene is based in Godmanchester, around fifteen miles, a twenty to thirty minute drive down the A14. Consultations can also take place over video call if that suits you better.

Can I use a family stone or existing piece in the design?+

Absolutely. Charlene regularly incorporates family stones, inherited gold, and existing pieces into new designs. If you have something that means something to you, it can become part of whatever you create together.
